Tension between Palestine and Israel have worsened again following the discovery of the bodies of three Jewish settlers who went missing near the Israeli city of Hebron ‘near the West Bank city’.
The bodies of the three Jewish teenagers were discovered in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli military have officially confirmed. Naftali Frenkel, 16, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Eyal Yifrach, 19, had supposedly been abducted from the area surrounding Hebron on 12 June, and not been heard from since.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly accused militant group Hamas of the kidnappings, supposedly in retaliation for the Israeli military capturing and arresting over 80 Palestinians in an overnight raid on the West Bank. It is reported some of those arrested may have been members of Hamas.
According to news source al Jazeera an Israeli inner cabinet members has informed their journalist that the country’s government will be conducting an emergency meeting later to discuss the events.
