A Vietnamese military helicopter crash has killed 16 people and injured 5 according to officials in the country’s capital and second-largest city, Hanoi.
A Mil Mi-17 helicopter, a Russian-built military helicopter, crashed near the Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi. Eyewitness reports claim that the helicopter had been flying low before the transport vehicle encountered some form of problem, crashing into the ground before catching fire.
The crash claimed the lives of 16 people and injured a further 5, according to an official report from the Vietnamese capital. The victims were all reportedly military personnel, both the dead and injured. According to Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, the deputy chief of general staff, the crash was a result of a technical failure.
