Lebanese Army Makes Progress In Border War With Islamists

The Lebanese Army managed to make progress into one of the affected border towns that has suffered in a bloody border war with Islamist militants and Lebanon, spilling over from the ongoing Syrian Civil War.

The Lebanese Army has advanced into one of the border towns affected by the most serious spill over into Lebanon from the Syrian Civil War in the three year period it has been active. Lebanon announced today that army reinforcements had arrived in Arsal to help fight back the Islamist forces that had been engaging in the bloody border conflict.

Lebanese president Tammam Salam said in a press release that there could be no political deal with attacking gunmen, who have been identified as members of the Nusra Front and the Islamic State (or ISIS), which has seized vast parts of Syria and northern Iraq in recent months.
