Two Lebanese soldiers have been killed and a further three injured after a military personnel carrier transporting the men was targetted by a bomb blast.
A bomb blast in the Lebanese border town of Arsal has targetted a military personnel carrier, killing two Lebanese Army soldiers and injuring three others. The attack occurred as the transport was ferrying the soldiers through the border town Arsal, which is along the Lebanon-Syria border.
The town of Arsal, through a coalition of the Lebanese Army and local militia forces, have been engaged in a war with militants from the Islamic State since an incursion into Lebanese land in August thrust the town into war. A total of 15 Lebanese soldiers are belieced to have been captured since fighting began at the beginning of the violent, bloody incursion.
