One person has died and another injured following the detonation of a car bomb in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.
A car bombing has left one person dead and another injured following the blast in Mogadishu, capital city of Somalia. Islamist terror group al-Shabaab has formally taken responsibility for the attack.
The blast occurred on Maka al-Mukarama, one of the coastal capital’s busiest central road, and set the car on fire. The road leads to the government buildings and highlights the increasing concerns over Somalia’s instabilities.
“We believe that the bomb was attached to the car,” police officer Ahmed Siyad told the AFP news agency, following the blast on Sunday evening.
