A Somali reporter has been shot dead in the town of Galkacyo, in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland.
Abdirisak Ali Abdi, a reporter from Somalia, has been killed in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, on the African country’s easternmost section of the Horn of Africa. Abdi, 25, was a radio journalist working for Radio Daljir when he was killed by gunmen in the town of Galkacyo.
According to the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) Abdi was killed in ‘cold blood’. The union also mentioned that Abdi had been doing work for a London-based television station.
