A deadly attack that has killed at least 20 people has been attributed to the Boko Haram terrorist organisation.
A suspected Boko Haram attack has left 20 people dead in a village in northeast Nigeria.
The attack occurred in the village of Azaya Kura in the Mafa area of Borno state. Mafa, 50km east from the Borno capital of Maiduguri, has been repeatedly attacked by armed groups in past years.
At least 50 people are also suspected to have been injured in the attack, which occurred when heavily armed gunmen entered the town on motorcycles at 12:00 local time (11:00 GMT) – opening fire on workers going about their day.
