At least 36 non-Muslims have been killed by heavily armed Somali militants in an attack on a quarry in Kenya.
Heavily armed Somali militants have attacked a quarry in the middle of the night, executing 36 non-Muslim workers in a methodical killing. The attackers singled out non-Muslims by asking them to recite the Islamic creed, killing 36 workers that couldn’t, most with a gunshot to the back of the head – according to a survivor who hid in a nearby bush during the ordeal.
Responsibility for the attack was claimed by Somali militant group al-Shabaab.
The attack is similar to another al-Shabaab attack 10 days prior, when non-Muslims travelling on a bus in Kenya were executed by the terrorist group – highlighting the serious militant problem Kenya faces from nearby Somalia.
