A gunman, believed to have been the same man who fired at a free speech debate hours earlier, has killed at least one person and injured two others after attacking a synagogue in Copenhagen.
A Jewish man has been killed and two police officers injured after a lone gunman, suspected to be the same man who earlier shot at a cultural centre where a free speech debate was occurring, attacked a synagogue.
The shooting occurred at Copenhagen’s Great Synagogue – the main synagogue for the city’s Jewish community.
The Jewish man was reportedly on security duty for a Bar Mitzvah that was going on inside the synagogue when he was killed, in the early hours of Sunday. He was shot in the head.
The two police officers suffered injuries to their arms and legs.
According to local reports, the gunman fled the scene after the shooting, as a large scale manhunt continues.
