A 100-year-old man has killed his 88-year-old wife with an axe as she slept, in New Jersey, before committing suicide himself.
A New Jersey man, aged 100, is believed to have murdered his wife with an axe before killing himself with a knife in an apparent murder-suicide.
Michael Juskin had a “history of domestic issues” with his 88-year-old wife Rosalia, according to the local prosecutor.
It is yet to be determined what sparked the incident in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, on Sunday night.
Ruskin is one of the oldest ever murder suspects in US history.
Police found the gruesome scene at the couple’s home after a relative called authorities.
Tearful neighbours told local press that cops had been scene at the couple’s home several times in recent years.
Neighbour Dorothy Biskup claimed Juskin had mental problems.
She said: “[The couple’s] daughter was saying “Mom come to me because we know he’s not stable,'” Biskup told CBS New York.
Juskin was suffering from dementia, a relative has claimed, and allegedly not lucid.
Neighbor Carole Lynch said Juskin was “not well.”
