At least one person has died following clashes in Guinea’s capital, Conakry, the AFP news agency reports.
Supporters who back the two leading candidates – President Alpha Conde and Cellou Dalein Diallo – in Sunday’s presidential election fought near the city’s large Madina market.
There have been tensions but the campaign period has been largely peaceful.
Interior Minister Mahmoud Cisse appealed for calm and warned that “no threat to public order will be tolerated”, AFP quotes him as saying.
