Gunmen have reportedly attacked a hotel, in the Malian capital, Bamako, and are believed to have taken hostages.
Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Radisson hotel, in Mali’s capital, Bamako, according to witnesses and security sources.
It is believed that the gunmen have taken hostages within the hotel.
Other reports said that three people died in the shootout. The hostage situation is still ongoing. Security forces are on the scene, AFP reported.
A security source told the agency that the attack happened on the seventh floor of the hotel. “Jihadists are firing in the corridor,” the source said.
The US Embassy in Mali confirmed the attack and asked all US citizens in Bamako to shelter in place. Private citizens are encouraged to contact their families.
