A Palestinian man has been shot dead, by Israeli security forces, after an attempted stabbing, in the occupied West Bank.
An attempted stabbing attack occurred at a checkpoint set up in Hawara, near Nablus, on Thursday morning.
A Palestinian man drew a knife at the checkpoint and approached IDF soldiers. The soldiers, of the Givati Brigade’s Rotem Battalion, shot and killed a Palestinian man.
Early on Wednesday, three soldiers were lightly wounded after an attempted car attack in the occupied West Bank’s Qalandiyah refugee camp. The Palestinian driver of the car was shot dead by Israeli security forces, and, according to an initial army investigation, the security forces were wounded by friendly fire.
On Monday, 14 people were wounded when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem rammed his car into a large group of people waiting at a bus stop at the entrance to Jerusalem. The assailant, Abed Almohsin Hassoneh, 21, from Beit Hanina was shot and killed at the scene while still in his car. An axe was found in the vehicle.
