The death toll has returned to 13, after reports of 10 people being killed in the Maelbeek metro explosion being doubted.
The death toll for attacks on Zaventem airport, and Maelbeek metro station, has returned to 13 people, having earlier risen to 23, after reports of 10 casualties in the metro station explosion being contested.
Public broadcaster VRT released a statement, saying that no-one had been killed in the explosion that occurred in the Brussels Metro carriage, at Maelbeek station.
Earlier reports by broadcaster VTM had suggested that 10 people were killed in the blast.
There are still a number of injuries, some believed to be serious, following the attack on the station, located about 500m from the EU buildings.
