A gunman shot and killed a co-worker, before killing himself, in an apparent murder-suicide, in the US state of Texas.
A man, reportedly recently fired from a Houston-area trucking firm, shot and killed a co-worker with a shotgun, before turning the gun on himself, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The gunman returned to the business, Knight Transportation, located in Katy, about 30 miles west of Houston, reportedly shouting about how the company had “ruined his life”, before he started shooting, local television station KHOU quoted law enforcement officials as saying.
The gunman reportedly walked past at least one person in the building before he opened fire. Sheriff Ron Hickman told reporters at the scene that the co-worker killed appeared to be a supervisor.
“The suspect is believed to have taken his own life after being terminated early this morning,” the sheriff’s office said.
The names of the victims have not been released. One other person was injured in the shooting.
