At least four people have been wounded, following a bomb blast, under a highway overpass, in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
A bomb blast in the Istanbul district of Maltepe wounded four people overnight, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.
It said the wounded were hurt by metal pieces from the device which was planted under an overpass on a highway. It was not clear how badly hurt they were or who planted the explosives.
Turkey has suffered a spate of bombings recently, from both Islamic State and Kurdish militants. Turkey is engaged in bombing runs and conflict with Kurdish fighters in southeastern Turkey, and both them and Islamic State militants across the border in northern Syria.
