Turkey Coup: Protesters Storm State Broadcaster

Government supporters, led by a Labour minister, have stormed into the state-run TRT broadcaster’s headquarters, in Ankara.

The official Anadolu news agency has reported that supporters of the Turkish government, led by Labour Minister Suleyman Soylu, have entered the officers of the state broadcaster TRT.

Reuters has reported that Turkey’s state broadcaster, TRT, is back on air. The broadcaster went off air earlier in the coup attempt, amidst reports of an explosion at the headquarters.

The TRT building had previously been under control of soldiers taking part in the ongoing military coup in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and Istanbul.

TRT had been made to announce the initial seizure of government at the beginning of the coup attempt.
