Two people have been injured, and the shooter killed themselves, following a shooting at a high school, in the US state of Texas.
A student has been injured, and the female gunman is dead, following a shooting at a high school in the US state of Texas.
A Homeland Security agent, who was responding to the scene was also injured, after a US Marshal accidentally shot him outside the school building in Texas.
The shooting occurred at the Alpine High School, in the town of Alpine, in western Texas.
Local reports have quoted hospital officials as saying that neither of the victims’ wounds are understood to be considered life-threatening, and they are expected to recover. It is understood that the injured student suffered a gunshot injury to their lower back.
According to a statement by the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, a female student brought a semi-automatic pistol “with plenty of ammunition” to school, shooting another female student in the band hall bathroom, before turning the gun on herself to commit suicide.
Neither the victim or the shooter have been identified by name or age. No other suspects are being hunted, despite earlier confusion over conflicting reports.
