At least 13 people are now believed to have been killed, following an explosion, believed to have been a car bomb, outside a football stadium in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
A suspected car bomb has killed at least 13 people and injured others outside a football stadium in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
Earlier reports suggested around 20 people had been wounded in the attack.
Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said the explosion is believed to have been a car bomb.
Reports said the blast targeted police that had been outside the Vodafone Arena in central Istanbul, following a football game between Besiktas and Bursaspor a few hours earlier.
Witnesses reported gunfire after the attack, while emergency services rushed to the scene.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, though it is thought to have likely been linked to Kurdish separatism in the country’s southeast.
Turkey has seen a spate of recent attacks by both Kurdish militants and Islamic State over the past year.
