At least nine people have been killed, and more than 50 others injured, after a lorry deliberately crashed into a Christmas market, in the German city of Berlin.
Nine people have died and more than 50 have been injured after a lorry ploughed into a Christmas market in central Berlin, German police said.
Police have been quoted locally as saying they suspect the attack was deliberate, describing the incident as a terrorist attack.
The driver of the truck is now on the run, according to German media.
The market is at Breitscheidplatz close to the Kurfuerstendamm, the main shopping street in the city’s west.
