At least 11 children have been wounded, several seriously, after a knife-wielding man attacked a nursery in southern China.
A knife-wielding man attacked a group of children at a nursery in China on Wednesday, seriously injuring several, local police have said.
The man entered the school in the southern Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region mid-afternoon, claiming he was there to pick up his son, the official Xinhua news agency quoted local police as saying.
The attacker allegedly climbed a wall to enter the facility, broadcaster CCTV said on social media, adding that an investigation was underway.
None of the children sustained life-threatening injuries, police said in Chinese media. Several of the children were sent to hospital for treatment.
A 41-year-old suspect is in police custody but it is not yet known what the motive was for the attack.
