Five Killed In Attack On UN Team Along Nigeria-Cameroon Border

At least five people, including a UN contractor, have been killed, and several others wounded, following an attack by an armed group on a UN technical team working along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

An armed group attacked a UN technical team working along the border between Nigeria and Cameroon, killing five people and wounding several, the United Nations Office for West Africa said on Wednesday.

The attack occurred on Tuesday at around 14:00 local time near the Cameroonian border town of Kontcha, the statement said.

“The victims were one UN independent contractor, three Nigerian nationals and one Cameroonian national,” it added.
