The team bus for German football club Borussia Dortmund has reportedly been damaged following an explosion, with at least one person injured, ahead of their Champions League quarter final with Monaco.
An explosion has hit a bus carrying the Borussia Dortmund football team to a Champions League match, the club says.
Player Marc Bartra has been injured and has been taken to hospital. The injuries are believed to be superficial, with reports suggesting that Bartra suffered cuts to his hands from shattered glass.
The AFP news agency reported that the bus’ rear windows were broken in the blast.
North-Rhine Westphalia police said they were at the scene and there are reports that the fire service are also there.
The team tweeted (in German) that the other players were safe and there was no danger in or around the stadium.
Police confirmed that there were three explosions in the area of the Borussia Dortmund team bus.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that tonight’s game has been called off and will now take place tomorrow at 17:45 BST.
