According to a press conference by Spanish police, one person has been killed and 32 others injured in a terror attack on Las Ramblas, in Barcelona, earlier today.
The statement contradicts earlier local media reports of 13 people having been killed in the attack. It is not uncommon for contradictions and confusions regarding casualties in situations such as these.
In their official statement Catalan police have said that one person has died and 32 have been injured, ten seriously, in the incident in Barcelona.
Police have also said that they are still searching for the driver of the vehicle, after he fled the scene on foot.
The vehicle is understood to have entered the pedestrianised street of Las Ramblas at the Placa Catalunya and travelled more than 500 metres at speed, before coming to a stop near the Placa Boqueria.
